Google Pixel 7a

Pixel 7a is the cheapest model from the Google Pixel 7 series which just launched in May 2023. This cellphone can be purchased at a price of US$499 for the only variant with 8GB of RAM type LPDDR5 and 128GB of internal memory (without microSD card slot support). Pixel 7a is also the smallest of the Pixel 7 series because it has a 6.1-inch screen. The screen is an OLED type with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (Full HD+), a pixel density of 429ppi, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Regarding performance, the Pixel 7a is powered by the Google Tensor G2 processor with a 5nm fabrication. Then, regarding photography, there are two rear cameras arranged horizontally consisting of a 64MP main camera with f/1.89 aperture, 80 degree field of view and eight times Super Rez Zoom feature and a 13MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, 120 degree field of view and autofocus . Meanwhile, the front camera which is located in the punch hole has a resolution of 13MP with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 95-degree field of view. Some of the other key specs include IP67 certification, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4385mAh battery that supports 18W wired and wireless charging.

The frame is made of aluminum, while the back is made of plastic. Both the frame and back are made from recycled materials. You can have the Pixel 7a in four color choices, namely coral, sea, charcoal and snow.

Google Pixel 7

Google launched the Pixel 7 in October 2022 in two variants, namely 8/128GB and 8/256GB. The price is 599 US dollars (about Rp. 8.9 million) and 699 US dollars. Its performance is on par with the Pixel 7a because both are powered by the Google Tensor G2 processor.

The back of the Pixel 7, which comes in a choice of lemongrass, snow and obsidian colors, looks the same as the Pixel 7a, but the back is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus which is more resistant to scratches. There are also two cameras arranged horizontally, consisting of a 50MP main camera (f/1.85 aperture, 82 degree field of view, and eight times Super Res Zoom) and a 12MP ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture and 114 degree field of view).

Like the back, the Pixel 7 screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The screen is an OLED type with a span of 6.3 inches, a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (Full HD +), a refresh rate of 90Hz, a pixel density of 419ppi and a brightness of up to 1400nit. Then, inside the punch hole, there is a 10.8MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 92-degree field of view. Some of the other key specs include no microSD card slot, in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68 certification, and a 4355mAh battery that supports 20W wired and wireless charging.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

Like the Pixel 7, the Pixel 7 Pro was also born in October 2022. This highest and most expensive model provides three choices of internal memory capacities, namely 128GB, 256GB and 512GB which can be purchased at a price of 799, 899 and 999 US dollars. Even though it is powered by the same processor as its two siblings, namely the Google Tensor G2, the Pixel 7 Pro is equipped with a larger RAM capacity of 12GB.

Turning to the back, the back, which is available in hazel, snow and obsidian colors, is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus like the Pixel 7. However, it looks different from its two siblings because there is one hole for an additional camera, namely a 48MP telephoto camera with f/3.5 aperture. 20.6 degree field of view, five times optical zoom and up to 30 times Super Rez Zoom. One more hole contains a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera with a 125-degree field of view.

The dimensions of the Pixel 7 Pro are the largest because it has a more impressive 6.7-inch screen. The screen is LTPO OLED type with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels (Quad HD+), 120Hz refresh rate, 512ppi pixel density, and up to 1500nit brightness. Even so, the screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus like the Pixel 7. Some of the other main specifications are a 10.8MP selfie camera, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, IP68 certification, and a 5000mAh battery that supports 23W wired and wireless charging.

The three cellphones above have equivalent performance as well as the ability to be water and dust resistant. However, considering that there is no microSD card slot, you need to consider the internal memory capacity carefully. Moreover, if you are an active user, the 256GB variant seems to be the minimum internal memory option that is worth choosing from the three new Google Pixel variants.
